Hometown: Keego Harbor, MI
Bio: I have lived in Michigan for most of my life and adore the Midwest. I went to University of Michigan for undergrad, and then Central Michigan University College of Medicine for medical school. During medical school, I was struck by loving all areas of medicine. I consider myself pan-passionate and drawn to lifelong learning. It is fitting that I would be drawn to family medicine. Within this, obstetrics and maternal and infant medicine hold a special place in my heart. I chose to pursue additional training in obstetrics after residency in order to provide the highest level of maternal care, including complex pregnancies and operative deliveries. Beyond medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new places with my husband, and spending time outdoors with my dog, Finn.
Why Memorial for OB fellowship: I chose Memorial Hospital for additional fellowship training in obstetrics for several reasons. I was impressed by the faculty and knew this program would provide me the depth and breadth of training I am looking for in managing complex pregnancies and surgical obstetrics. Invigorated by challenges, I yearn to work somewhere that promotes excellence and would drive me to my full potential as a full scope family medicine physician. Beyond this, I was drawn to the intangible family-feel at Memorial Hospital. Everyone I met during my interview made me feel at home. I felt strongly that Memorial was the perfect environment for me to give me exceptional training while surrounded by supportive and welcoming people.
