Hometown: Muncie, IN
Bio: I am a full-blooded Hoosier who maintains the never-ending tension between being home and present with family, friends, and patients and an insatiable hunger to travel and explore the new and unknown. I found my way into medicine almost by accident when I began an undergrad degree in the life sciences and found myself roped into volunteering at a clinic in downtown Indianapolis. Early in this journey, I acquired an appreciation and particular fondness for the continuity and breadth of care that family medicine provides for patients. I discovered so much joy in partnering with patients in finding their way to health and being whole. I now aspire to care for my patients as whole individuals, appreciating that health involves physical, psychological, and spiritual needs. The Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program has not only allowed me to practice and continue to master this role of a physician but has also unveiled a new interest in addiction medicine that I look forward to acquiring additional training in after residency.
Why Memorial: Memorial is full of people who encourage, inspire, teach, and compassionately serve whole-heartedly. With an unopposed residency, I have limitless opportunities to learn from the most complicated cases and overall develop a strong and broad foundation on which to develop my career as a family physician. My mentors and team members are family; we celebrate together, we cry together, and we serve joyfully TOGETHER.
