Bio: I am a born and bred Cheesehead from Southeastern Wisconsin. I enjoy all sports, weight lifting, cooking, woodworking, hunting, fishing, video games, and fantasy football. I went to Southwest Minnesota State University where I played Division-2 Football and Baseball. After undergrad, I spent five years working as an EMT in Iowa City while I finished my prerequisites for medical school. I am a proud D.O. and graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. My wife, Tiffany, and I have three beautiful daughters, Sophi, Addison, and Lillianna. They certainly keep me on my toes but I never could’ve made it where I am without them.

Why Memorial: I am all about my family. That is probably the biggest reason my wife and I decided to come to Memorial for residency. Memorial just felt like a big family. From my time rotating here, to my interview, and even when we brought our kids for a second look visit; I just always felt at home and I knew my family would as well. I knew that Memorial would help me to become the physician that I want to be at the end of residency. I also plan to pursue a Sports Medicine Fellowship and the opportunities with the sports medicine track at Memorial were second to none. Additionally, I’m not sure there is any possible way to beat training for sports medicine with Notre Dame as the backdrop.

Clinical interests: Sports Medicine

Favorite quotes: “Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses! Dedication sees dreams come true.” -Kobe Bryant

Advice: You only have three years of residency. Three years to work hard, make mistakes, grow as a person and as a physician. Choose a program that supports your career goals and that you think will make you the best physician you can be over those three years.

Favorite thing to do/place to go in South Bend/Mishawaka: Notre Dame Sporting Events, Howard Park with my kids, Potawatomi Zoo
