I grew up on a small farm on Crystal Lake in Northern Indiana with my two younger brothers and parents. I attended Ball State University, where I majored in Biology. During my time at Ball State, I had the honor of attending two global health trips to Ecuador, where I fell in love with Global Health. After graduating in 2015, I married my high school sweetheart. Just a few short weeks later, I started medical school at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. I have always felt very passionate about Obstetrics and Women’s Health. During the course of my clerkships in my third year of medical school, I discovered my passion for all varieties of patients. I fell in love with the diversity of each patient’s journey that came with Family Medicine. No longer could I imagine a practice without caring for men, women, children, geriatrics, the healthy and the sick. These experiences led me to discover that Family Medicine is where my heart belongs.
My journey to Memorial Hospital began in my fourth year of medical school, when I had the privilege of spending a month with the residency team. I was immediately overwhelmed by the amazing people, the knowledge of the residents and the numerous opportunities within the program. Memorial offers strong inpatient and outpatient training, as well as amazing opportunities for my passions. During my interview and second look, it was evident that I was among an amazing group of physicians who would support me not only professionally, but my family as well. I felt this was where God was calling me to train and I am very honored and blessed for this opportunity. After residency, I hope to complete the OB Fellowship Memorial has to offer. I am very thankful to God for this opportunity and pray I can be of service to the South Bend community.
I enjoy spending time with my husband, Taylor. We have a cat, Nala and a dog, Irish (named after Notre Dame of course). Together we enjoy traveling, visiting with our friends and family, watching Netflix and cheering on Notre Dame! I also love reading, sewing, cooking and home projects.
