Hometown: Grosse Ile, MI

Bio: Hi! My name is Victoria Drzyzga, but everyone calls me Tori. I am the oldest of 5 children (and the only girl) and grew up on a small island in Michigan, called Grosse Ile. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a physician. My time in Detroit at Wayne State solidified my interest in becoming a physician and working with vulnerable and underserved populations During medical school at OUWB, my passion for working with the underserved only increased and I was able to work with one of my classmates to establish a street medicine program to bring healthcare and other resources to unhoused individuals in Pontiac, MI. Besides working with underserved populations, I am also interested in cultivating lasting relationships with patients across the lifespan, which led me to the wonderful specialty of family medicine.

Why Memorial: I wanted to train at a program that was going to challenge me and help me to become a well-rounded family medicine physician, who is comfortable providing full-spectrum care. Additionally, I was excited to be able to customize the curriculum to my specific interests and the other residents/faculty are incredible people to work with and learn from!

Clinical interests: underserved care, outpatient medicine, street medicine, MAT, reproductive healthcare

Hobbies: trying new restaurants in town, watching Detroit sports/college football, spending time with my partner Matthew and our pup Luna, and traveling with friends!

Favorite books: The Giver by Lois Lowry, Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese, Educated by Tara Westover

Favorite podcasts: I am slowly getting into podcasts! I like American Scandal and Crime Junkie. I also listen to the AFP podcast.
