Medical Student Quotes

I really enjoyed seeing all the different aspects of family medicine in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. I was most impressed on how well everyone gets a long, the great support, and awesome teamwork. I was looking forward to each day!

I worked with hardworking, competent, knowledgeable, and pleasant residents. They are like the resident I’d like to be. What a fun experience, especially on Peds.

I loved the autonomy given to med students by the residents. I always had the option to see the patient alone or with a resident. I felt like an integral part of the team, presenting patients, writing notes, and developing rapport with patients on inpatient and outpatient services. I never felt like a burden – these residents love to teach. I appreciated that there was always a resident waiting for me on day 1 of each rotation (medicine, peds, OB, clinic). That resulted in very little anxiety on the first day since I knew where to go.

This was my first experience on medicine nights; it was great! I wrote progress notes and presented during medicine rounds. I enjoyed seeing patients independently. Received some feedback from chiefs on my notes which is helpful for the future as a resident.

I was allowed to do vaginal deliveries with family physicians and community OB/GYN physicians. Good experience with patient triage and work up of common issues in pregnancy.

I really liked the interaction between attendings and residents – I felt they respected residents and treated them like true doctors.
