Residents, particularly those interested in Geriatrics fellowship, would be encouraged, but not required to spend an away month at institution that hosts a geriatrics fellowship. They would be expected to present a noon conference on their experience. This would first enhance their application for fellowship and also, by having a presentation upon return, allow the program as a whole to learn about innovative geriatrics approaches that are worth implementing here.
