Occupational Medicine

The Occupational Medicine rotation is an experiential rotation required of PGY-4 residents in the Health Services Management (HSM) Curriculum. It can also be taken as an elective in other curricula.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

The NICU rotation is a preceptorial rotation lasting 0.5 blocks. The rotation occurs in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Newborn Nursery of Memorial Hospital.

Nephrology

The nephrology rotation is a half block or full block preceptorial rotation. The rotation occurs at Memorial Hospital, in the nephrologist’s office, at the dialysis center and in other locations included in the nephrologist’s usual practice.

Hospice

Hospice is a two-week preceptorial required rotation in the HSM curriculum, and is also an elective rotation that can be taken during the second or third year of residency.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) rotation is an experiential rotation required of PGY-4 residents in the Health Services Management (HSM) Curriculum. It can also be taken as an elective in the other curricula.

Substance Use Disorder

The Substance Abuse Rotation is a two-week required rotation in the HSM curriculum or an elective rotation in any other curricula. This is an experiential rotation, occurring in multiple sites in the community, which is supplemented with readings and the longitudinal Behavioral Science curriculum.

Academic Hospitalist

The hospitalist elective is a two to four-week elective rotation. The purpose of this elective rotation is to further bolster skills in inpatient medicine specifically focusing on multitasking, acute patient care management and care delivery. 

Surgery Subspecialties

The surgery subspecialties rotation is a preceptorial rotation lasting 1.5 blocks and typically completed during the 3 rd year of training.

Overview The surgery rotation is a preceptorial rotation. Residents are required to complete one block of general surgery rotations. The rotation occurs at Memorial Hospital,

Sports Medicine/Orthopedics

The sports medicine rotation is a preceptorial rotation. The rotation occurs in the sports medicine preceptor’s office, and in other locations included in the sports medicine preceptor’s usual practice such as high school and college training rooms and at various athletic venues.
