Hometown: Austin, TX
Bio: I was born in Austin, TX, and raised in a handful of small Texas towns. I started medical school planning to be an ophthalmologist, but it turned out my love for medicine extended far beyond the eye. I found my true fit in Family Medicine—a field that lets me build relationships, think broadly, and provide full-spectrum care wherever it’s needed, especially in underserved communities like the ones that raised me.
Why Memorial: I’m a Texas boy through and through, and with my wife’s family in Florida, we never imagined we’d end up in South Bend for residency. But the secret sauce at Memorial is the people—genuine, welcoming, and relentlessly committed to creating a sense of belonging. Their dedication to excellence and humanistic medicine stood out, and I knew this was a place where I’d feel supported, cared for, and truly at home. Additionally, it was important to me that my wife, Gabriela, felt included and welcomed within the residency culture. The team at Memorial exceeded my expectations in that regard. This is truly a family friendly residency.
