The ultrasound elective is an opportunity to further ones’ skill in ultrasound imaging and technique in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
The Underserved Elective is a required rotation in the Care of the Underserved Curriculum and can be an elective rotation in any other curriculum.
FQHC – South Bend is a required rotation in the Care of the Underserved curriculum and can be taken as an elective in any curriculum.

The procedures curriculum is intended to be a longitudinal experience comprised of lectures, focused experiences (rotations) and office-based experiences.
The rural medicine rotation is a preceptorial rotation. It is a required rotation in the HSM fourth year curriculum. Those in the Rural Focus Curriculum will spend additional time in rural medicine (see separate curriculum).
The radiology rotation is a ½ to 1 block preceptorial rotation. The rotation occurs at Memorial Hospital and in other locations included in the radiologist’s usual practice.
The Occupational Medicine rotation is an experiential rotation required of PGY-4 residents in the Health Services Management (HSM) Curriculum. It can also be taken as an elective in other curricula.
The NICU rotation is a preceptorial rotation lasting 0.5 blocks. The rotation occurs in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Newborn Nursery of Memorial Hospital.
