The Underserved Elective is a required rotation in the Care of the Underserved Curriculum and can be an elective rotation in any other curriculum.

The procedures curriculum is intended to be a longitudinal experience comprised of lectures, focused experiences (rotations) and office-based experiences.
The rural medicine rotation is a preceptorial rotation. It is a required rotation in the HSM fourth year curriculum. Those in the Rural Focus Curriculum will spend additional time in rural medicine (see separate curriculum).
The radiology rotation is a ½ to 1 block preceptorial rotation. The rotation occurs at Memorial Hospital and in other locations included in the radiologist’s usual practice.
The Occupational Medicine rotation is an experiential rotation required of PGY-4 residents in the Health Services Management (HSM) Curriculum. It can also be taken as an elective in other curricula.
The NICU rotation is a preceptorial rotation lasting 0.5 blocks. The rotation occurs in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Newborn Nursery of Memorial Hospital.
The nephrology rotation is a half block or full block preceptorial rotation. The rotation occurs at Memorial Hospital, in the nephrologist’s office, at the dialysis center and in other locations included in the nephrologist’s usual practice.
Hospice is a two-week preceptorial required rotation in the HSM curriculum, and is also an elective rotation that can be taken during the second or third year of residency.
