Emergency Medicine – Rural Curriculum

For residents in the Rural Curriculum, half of the rotation will be spent in the Memorial Hospital Emergency Department (urban setting) and the other half of the rotation will be spent in the Emergency Department at the Community Hospital of Bremen (rural setting). The Emergency Department at the Community Hospital of Bremen is a 4-bed facility staffed by the same physician group that works in the Memorial Hospital ER.  This rotation will expose residents to a more common pace and scope of work found in rural ERs across the country as they split their time between the two facilities.  Time in the Bremen ER will allow for additional teaching interactions between the resident and ER attending.
