Hometown: Waterford, WI

Bio:I am a born and bred Cheesehead from Southeastern Wisconsin. I enjoy all sports, weight lifting, cooking, woodworking, hunting, fishing, video games, and fantasy football. I went to Southwest Minnesota State University where I played Division-2 Football and Baseball. After undergrad, I spent five years working as an EMT in Iowa City while I finished my prerequisites for medical school. I am a proud D.O. and graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. My wife, Tiffany, and I have four beautiful daughters, Sophi, Addison, Lillianna, and Everli. They certainly keep me on my toes, but I never could have made it where I am without them.

Why Memorial:Having done residency here at Memorial, I have worked with many of the sports medicine physicians and knew I would receive great training here. It’s also an incredible opportunity to be able to work with the high level athletes at Notre Dame. Over the past 3 years, my family and I have also made some incredibly strong relationships and truly have become part of the Memorial family. To be able to get such incredible sports medicine training while staying in town and continuing to work with my amazing colleagues was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Clinical interests: Sports Medicine

Favorite quotes: “Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses! Dedication sees dreams come true.” -Kobe Bryant

Advice: You only have three years of residency. Three years to work hard, make mistakes, grow as a person, and as a physician. Choose a program that supports your career goals and that you think will make you the best physician you can be over those three years.

Favorite thing to do/place to go in South Bend/Mishawaka: Notre Dame Sporting Events, Howard Park with my kids, Potawatomi Zoo
