Kelsey Perry, MD, MS

College: Grand Valley State University
Medical School: Central Michigan University
Graduate Work: Case Western Reserve University

Hometown: Crystal Falls, MI

Bio: Hello! My Name is Kelsey and I grew up in a very small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I fell in love with the outdoors and continue to love hiking, backpacking and being on the water. Growing up the middle child of three has very much shaped my personality as the mediator and the caretaker with a hint of indecision. This led to an interest in just about every aspect of medicine. I enjoyed obstetrics, pediatrics, geriatrics, gynecology, pretty much all of it. All of this to say, I love the breadth of Family Medicine and also the opportunity to build relationships with people. I plan to build my skills in as many areas as possible so I can better serve a rural community some day.

Why Memorial: I loved the people on my interview day. It was very early in my interviews and after every interview I kept coming back to Memorial and comparing each program to them and what they have to offer. I can’t wait to see the physician I grow into here!

Clinical interests: Women’s health, pediatrics, obstetrics, rural health, patient advocacy, clinical management

Hobbies: Hiking, backpacking, dog training (and playing), reading, golf, weightlifting, trying new restaurants with my husband

Favorite quotes: There, but for the grace of God go I- John Bradford

Favorite books: Harry Potter: specifically the Prisoner of Azkaban, but I love them all. Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee, Night by Elie Weisel

Best advice: Rule #1: never turn yourself down. Rule #2: always be remembered. Rule #3: Speak for yourself and only for yourself, ever

Favorite thing to do in South Bend/Mishawaka: Try new restaurants, and biking to things- this rural gal is loving the convenience of this community
