Hometown: Indianapolis, IN
Bio: Hi! I’m so excited to be joining the class of 2027. My parents moved to the USA from the Middle East in the 90s, and shortly after, I was born. I was raised in Indianapolis, IN and I have 3 younger siblings. My dad is a doctor and my mom studied literature and childhood development, so there was always a focus on health, wellbeing, and the arts in my household.
I studied French and International Relations alongside my pre-med classes at Butler University to get my fill of liberal arts while also learning about the human body and how it works. My liberal arts classes seemed to examine what it’s like to be human from a social, political, economic, and philosophical perspective, but my science courses gave me a direct look into how a human being works, and all the possible things that can go wrong in the body. I love that as a family medicine doctor, I can bring different parts of my background together to provide patient-centered care that takes into consideration the unique stories and life experiences my patients will have.
I love learning languages, reading, crocheting, yoga, cooking, playing video games, and playing with my tripod cat, Fufu.
Why Memorial: I wanted an unopposed Family Medicine program with a lot of different fellowships to choose from, an option to pursue global health opportunities, and a supportive and friendly environment.
Clinical interests: Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Public Health, Behavioral Health,
Hobbies: Reading, yoga, crochet, painting, karaoke, guitar, watching Love Island UK 🙂
