Hometown: Plymouth, Indiana
Bio: Hi! I’m Olivia Neese, Plymouth, IN native and amateur ice cream connoisseur. I started my journey in medicine at Indiana State University in the Rural Health Program, where I was first introduced to rural medicine and care for the underserved. I continued my medical education at IUSM in Terre Haute and participated in the Rural Medicine Education Program, with a specific focus on completing my clinical rotations in rural areas when possible. My experiences have served to deepen my connection to rural Indiana and sparked my passion for primary care and chronic disease management. After 8 years, rural has not become any easier to say. I’m looking forward to continuing my medical education at Memorial and becoming the physician my future patients deserve.
Outside of medicine, my mom, dad, and brother still live in the house I grew up in in Plymouth. My sister, and roomie, is a labor and delivery nurse. My fiancé, Cameron, works at Zimmer Biomet. We love trying new restaurants, seeing live music, and going on evening walks together. I’ve never met a dessert I didn’t like, and I will gladly go with you to any book or plant store.
Why Memorial: I chose Memorial for the outstanding full-scope training it provides and the group of passionate people that make it up. After a fourth-year medical school rotation here, I couldn’t see myself anywhere else. The support from faculty, staff, co-residents, and community is second to none. I’m so excited to return to the community that helped raise me and provide great care to the people living here.
Clinical interests: Chronic disease management, patient education, office procedures, medical student and undergraduate mentorship
Hobbies: I’m a plant mom, I love singing, ice cream, yoga, and have recently started crochet.
