Hometown: New Hyde Park, NY
Bio: Hi everyone! My name is Pranuthi, and I grew up on Long Island, NY. As a kid, my first introductions to the medical field were my dad, who is a pharmacist, and Doc Baker from the show Little House on the Prairie. An interest in science and service led me to pursue medical school. During clinical rotations, I ended up loving every specialty I rotated with, which is one of the reasons I chose family medicine. I especially loved my rotations in more rural areas. Outside of home or work, you can usually find me on a walk, in the gym, listening to music in the car, on the phone with my siblings, or spending time with friends.
Why Memorial: The first thing that stood out to me about Memorial was how intentional and thoughtful the faculty and residents were during the interview process. Even though I interviewed virtually, the conversations felt so natural, and I could tell they truly cared about each other, about their patients, and about me. I was also impressed by how well-rounded the program was and how many opportunities residents had to pursue their interests. I could tell that Memorial was a place I could go to be prepared for how I want to practice in the future, as so many of the faculty had backgrounds in similar practices. Finally, when I visited in person for second look, everyone was so friendly and welcoming that I felt right at home. I knew that Memorial was where I belonged, and I am grateful to be here!
