My name is Amber Lichtenbarger, and I grew up here in South Bend. I was even born right here at Memorial! My husband, Kevin, is a farmer. His family grows corn and soybeans locally. We have three girls: Lily, 14, Emma, 15, and Chloe, 18. Chloe has just started as a freshman at IU and Lily is a freshman and plays volleyball at New Prairie High School. After 8 years as a personal banker at 1st Source and then Chase Bank, I decided to return to school to pursue a degree in Biology at IUSB. I then attended medical school at IU School of Medicine’s South Bend regional campus at Notre Dame. I decided to pursue a career in family medicine for the opportunity to develop long-term patient relationships and participate in full-spectrum patient care. I chose Memorial for residency due to its reputation for excellent training, supportive faculty, opportunities for treating complex patients and, of course, its awesome location. In our free time, Kevin and I enjoy watching our girls’ volleyball games. We also like hiking, biking and camping. Our favorite local spot for outdoor activities is Potato Creek State Park. We’re so glad to have found such a great program here at home!
