Rural hospitals have unique responsibilities to provide ancillary services for the patients in their community. These services include lab, imaging, therapy services, counseling, social work, infusion, and sometimes exercise facilities and community gathering places. This rotation will expose residents to these ancillary services and how they work in rural settings to contrast this against how the resident has seen them work in a more urban environment.
