Hometown: Edwardsburg, MI
Bio: Hello! I was raised by my grandparents in small-town Edwardsburg, MI. Since I was four years old, I’ve wanted to be a family medicine physician. After graduating from Grand Valley State University with a degree in nutrition, I married my high-school sweetheart (Johnny), bought a dog (Tilly), and started medical school all in a few short months! I am joining the underserved track and plan to serve a rural community after residency. The majority of my childhood centered around our hobby farm and I am thrilled to move back home to continue that hobby! I also enjoy baking, painting, hiking, eating at new restaurants, and spending time with family.
Why Memorial: applied for an audition rotation at Memorial because it was close to family. I was not expecting to immediately feel at home on my first day. I was welcomed by everyone! The faculty and residents have such great relationships and are passionate about providing the best care for their patients. Because of the sense of community and outreach programs, I knew that I belonged here.
