Hi, I’m Catie! My hometown is Orland Park, Illinois, but I grew up in different towns across Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona and Tennessee. I came home to the Midwest to attend Loyola University Chicago for my undergraduate studies. While working toward my Biology/Neuroscience major, I had the wonderful opportunity to work in rural clinics of El Ojochal, Honduras. This experience sparked my passion towards medicine and primary care. I had the pleasure of attending Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University, where I furthered my interests in global health on medical externships in Chacraseca, Nicaragua and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
I chose Memorial for my residency training because I was blown away by the sense of community and support that radiated from the residents and staff on my interview day. I was also very excited by the opportunities they offered involving global health and caring for underserved populations. In my free time, I love to bake everything from homemade pies to ganache-covered cakes. The rest of my time is taken up by my and my boyfriend Mike’s three-month-old English Bulldog named Jules, who loves to chew everything in sight. I am absolutely thrilled to move to South Bend and join the Memorial Family!
